Villages & towns:
- Fuente de Piedra: The name of our village is due to the famous fountain that, according to the leyend, has curative qualities, since those people who drank from the fountain cured "the evil of the stone". At the present time, it is a quiet locality on the North of the province of Málaga, that is characterized for its people and for the well-know Fuente de Piedra Lagoon, where, year after year, migratory birds, such as, the flamingo in teir migration pass through.
The camping is, by car, just one hour from Granada, 80 minutes from Córdoba, 90 min. from Seville and 45 min. from Málaga. The nearest towns with interesting sights are: Antequera and Campillos just 20 minutes, Estepa no more than 25 minutes, Osuna only 30 minutes and Ronda, just 1 hour.
Espacios naturales:
- Fuente de Piedra Lagoon: This lagoon is the widest one in Andalusia. Its high ecological value is given not only because of the flora and wildlife of the place and its geological characteristics, but also because it is the most important setting for the nest building of the common Flamingo in the Iberian peninsula. These features have given to this setting the title of Natural Reserve, and it has been declared by the European Union: Special Area for the Protection of Birds.
Other very interesting natural views are the Torcal of Antequera, Campillos and La Ratosa lagoons, both declared Natural Reserve. Furthermore, the Mounts of Málaga not more than 1 hour and La Sierra de las Nieves (Málaga). A bit further we find the Sierras Subbéticas (Córdoba), the Lagunas del sur de Córdoba and Sierra Nevada (Granada) just 2 hours.
